About Us

The litigation firm of Ichter Thomas, LLC, The "IT" Firm, was formed in October 2009. IT's partners are warriors both inside and outside the courtroom. Jim Thomas and Cary Ichter are both black belts in karate, while Renee Huskey and Patricia Roy are steel magnolias and are, therefore, far more dangerous.

Collectively, the lawyers of IT have over eighty years of law firm experience and fourteen years of experience as in-house counsel. Cary and Jim are well-known legal veterans in the Atlanta community. They are lawyers that other lawyers seek out for assistance with particularly difficult or contentious cases. Cary was the founding partner of a firm that merged in 2003 with one of the largest firms in the Southeast. Jim was among the earliest partners of one of Atlanta's largest and most preeminent law firms.

Both of these lawyers broke the mold and ventured on their own to continue their business litigation practices and representation of professional athletes. In fact, Jim was Evander Holyfield's attorney and management advisor for many years and published a book on his experience. Cary is a prolific writer and regularly publishes on legal and political topics. Recently, Cary Ichter has become one of the "go-to" lawyers in the State of Georgia for judges who wish to appoint a Special Master to complex litigation matters.

Renee and Patricia are also highly skilled and effective litigators. Renee has many years of experience as in-house counsel for a major financial institution and has served as a staff attorney on the Court of Appeals, giving the firm great insight into litigation from the client's perspective as well as insider experience of Georgia appellate practice. Patricia moonlights as a professional actress and worked for many years in New York for the second largest global recorded music company. She parlays her experience into her entertainment practice.

IT has the kind of lawyers you want in the legal foxhole with you: smart, experienced, creative and fearless. The "IT" Firm, thus, is aptly named.

Get IT! Got IT! Good!
