W. Daniel Davis (Dan) | Associate

Dan Davis focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including business torts and contracts and has considerable experience drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, including complex document review and both taking and defending depositions, and orally arguing various matters. Before joining Ichter Thomas, Dan was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Steve C. Jones, then Superior Court Judge for the Western Judicial Circuit of Georgia and now United States District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia. Dan received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where he was articles editor of the Georgia Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Dan was also a finalist at the National Debate Tournament, the national championship for collegiate public policy debate.

 Representative Experience 

Dan’s recent representative experience includes: 

  • drafting  brief in successful appeal that resulted in additional $192,725 in attorneys’ fees on remand;
  • second-chairing securities arbitration resulting in $200,000+ favorable judgment;
  • second-chairing employment arbitration resulting in $440k+ favorable judgment;
  • drafting successful response in opposition to motion for summary judgment as to guarantor’s counterclaims against commercial lender;
  • drafting successful response in opposition to motion to compel various entities to arbitrate;
  • drafting and arguing successful motion for temporary restraining order against former franchisor;
  • drafting and arguing multiple, successful motions to add parties, amend claims, transfer actions, and compel discovery; and
  • drafting and arguing multiple, successful responses in opposition to motions to dismiss.
